Almost every year since 1997, the Peabody Chamber Opera has pre­sented a staged pro­duc­tion of early opera, under the musical leader­ship in turn of Webb Wiggins, Joseph Gascho, and Adam Pearl, preparing many of our graduates for early-music careers. The reorgan­ized Early Music Depart­ment under the direction of Mark Cudek now includes a contin­uing ensemble, the Balti­more Baroque Band, which accom­panies pro­duc­tions as well as playing its own concerts.
