Sofya Karash
Guest set designer
Sofya Karash is an illustrator/graphic designer with an interest in set design for Theater and Opera. Sofya is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she studied illustration and graphic design. She has also studied in Greece with the “Artists on the Move” program, and at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Sofya was the recipient of the TCA “Young Masters” Award and the prestigious NFAA Arts Award (Level I).
Sofya has worked on various artistic projects in the Baltimore area including paintings for the set of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte for the Peabody Opera Theatre, graphic design for the Johns Hopkins report, “Zoning for a Healthy Baltimore,” illustrations for Biohabitats, Inc., and various book design/illustration projects and fine art commissions.
