Kristina Lucka
Guest costume designer
Kristina Lucka comes from Bratislava, Slovakia, and has been in the United States for over ten years. She graduated with an MFA in costume design from The University of Maryland where she studied under mentor Helen Huang, regional and local designer. In 2006, Kristina assisted the costume designer Fabio Toblini on The Ford’s Theatre production of A Christmas Carol.
This past year, Kristina has worked as a costume design assistant at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC. The year before, she was the wardrobe manager at Arena Stage. While working with the Shakespeare, Kristina had the opportunity to dip her toe into the dance world with The City Dance Ensemble in Washington, DC. Kristina is currently pursuing her career as a freelance costume designer and plans to move to New York City with her loving husband Martin.
Kristina makes her Peabody debut in November, 2008, as costume designer for The Cunning Little Vixen.
