The Peabody Chamber Opera has presented an early opera program virtually every year since 1997. Beginning under the musical direction of Webb Wiggins (left), the tradition continues in collaboration with the expanded Early Music program directed by Mark Cudek. The photographs show our inaugural production in 1997, entitled Pastorale & Masque (combining Monteverdi’s Tirsi e Clori, Charpentier’s Actéon, and the masque from Purcell’s Dioclesian), plus two pictures from the premiere performance of our own edition of Cavalli’s Egisto.
